My Bio
My education and work experience have given me strong technical skills in design, photography, and video. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a double major in Graphic Design and Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design – internationally recognized as a top Art and Design school. I also have over 20 years of graphic design, photography, and video experience in a broad variety of settings: a national camera chain, a map publication company, an advertising agency, a nonprofit educational company, and for the Department of the Navy.

In my current position, as Lead Visual Information Specialist for the Department of the Navy - Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR), I am responsible for the design, photography, and production of various forms of marketing
material to promote Quality of Life (QOL) facilities, programs, and events. In my previous position as Team Leader, Publications - Content & Design for the Council for Professional Recognition, I was responsible for the photography, design and layout of all publications and online media from conception to completion.

In these and in previous positions, I have worked with all aspects of photography, video, illustration and design,
from logos, posters, fliers, brochures, certificates, newsletters, handbooks, fact sheets, news releases, Power Point presentations, data visualizations, infographics, motion graphics, displays, exhibits, aerial renderings, nautical
maps, and newspaper, magazine, catalog, and online advertisements. I am also an expert at managing print publications, including page layout, pagination, pre-press production and interfacing and coordinating with
print house representatives.

The following excerpt, from one of my references, is provided as a snapshot of my capabilities:
“Theresa has increased her own output and utility during the past year with specific regard to pandemic tasking. Many times, she takes it upon herself to take on the rush work that comes in and has been excellent in pushing the progress of things that need to get done.” – Jared Nakayama, Marketing Director, Fleet and Family Readiness.
